Description of Carrot Seed Oil
An oil steam-distilled from the dried seeds of the Daucus carota plant, Carrot Seed oil is very similar to celery seed in both its production cycle and distillation methods. The pale oil has a unique dry and woody odor, with an earthy and root-like tinge among its initial sweet and fresh notes. However, the notes within its dry down are highly tenacious, retaining an oily and earthy nuance. Carrot Seed oil’s flavor is warm and spicy, with a piquant sweetness at higher concentrations. This makes the oil especially popular among the flavor industry, often included in products such as spice blends, meat seasonings, and beverages. In fragrance, Carrot Seed oil is primarily used alongside other fatty or woody oils to enhance ingredients such as mimosa, citrus, and geranium.
