Tarragon Oil
Description of Tarragon Oil
Also referred to as “Estragon Oil,” Tarragon Oil is steam-distilled from the widely cultivated Artemisia Dracunculus herb. The aroma of this oil is sweet and spicy, most commonly compared to anise and celery leaf for its fresh-green top note. In the culinary world, tarragon has been grown and harvested for millennia as a seasoning for meat sauces, pickling brines, and herbal seasonings. Tarragon oil fulfills much of the same purpose, mirroring the green, spicy, and slightly sweet flavor of the fresh herb. In perfumery, tarragon oil is also used in small amounts within green or floral blends. It blends well with ingredients such as lavender, basil, and oakmoss.
