Elemi Oil HEADER

Elemi Oil

Canarium luzonicum (blume) a. gray

Description of Elemi Oil

Elemi Oil is steam-distilled from crude “Elemi” gum, which is a resinous material extracted from Canarium luzonicum trees, endemic to Indonesia and the Philippines. The aroma of elemi oil is bright and refreshing, with notes of lemon and black pepper. This odor eventually mellows into a balsamic, green, sweet-spicy dry down that is remarkably pleasant. In perfumery, elemi oil is often used as a freshener or a top note for heavy perfume compositions, especially those that emphasize sweet or floral notes. Elemi works well alongside materials such as cinnamon bark, lavender, rosemary, and sage.
