Nutmeg Oil Sri Lanka
Description of Nutmeg Oil Sri Lanka
A competitor to the predominant Indoensian variety of nutmeg, Nutmeg Oil Sri Lanka is steam-distilled from the dried fruits of the Myristica fragrans tree. The oil’s aroma and flavor retain the distinctly terpenic and spicy characteristics expected of nutmeg, though the oil’s higher quality allows it to be used in all manner of flavor and fragrance applications. While it can generally be used interchangeably with Indonesian material, Sri Lankan nutmeg oil has a more pronounced woody undertone, giving the oil a richer dry down. This can make for an excellent addition to modern spicy perfumes, especially those that incorporate ingredients such as lavandin, bay leaf, and linalool.
